About the job 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator with a minimum of 10 years in systems administration, including hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a deep technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead infrastructure initiatives in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment.

What you’ll do 

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Manage and monitor cloud-based and on-prem systems (Windows, Linux, virtualization, etc.).
• Automate infrastructure deployment and management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and disaster recovery for critical systems.
• Administer cloud IAM policies, firewalls, VPNs, and security controls in GCP.
• Perform system upgrades, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for system outages or security events.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Security, DevOps, Development, Network) to meet technical and business goals.

You should have 

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in system administration (Linux and Windows environments).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including services like Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, and IAM.
• Expertise in scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Solid understanding of networking, DNS, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• GCP certification (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Cloud DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with hybrid cloud architecture and migrations.
• Knowledge of security compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
• Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes, GKE).
• Experience supporting 24/7 environments and on-call rotation.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects independently.
• Team-oriented with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.
